PRIVACY STATEMENT OF STICHTING OPERA2DAY
GENERAL
This is a privacy statement of the OPERA2DAY Foundation, or OPERA2DAY for short. We value your privacy and want to be clear about how we handle your (personal) data. This is of course done in accordance with legal requirements, in particular those of the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG). You can read more about this on this page.
WHO ARE WE?
The OPERA2DAY Foundation is an opera and music theatre company based in The Hague and registered in the trade register of the Chamber of Commerce under number 27306837.
When you use the OPERA2DAY website and the products and services found on it, you leave data with us. In addition, the website leaves some types of cookies on your computer. These are used to make the website work better on your device. Below you can read what data OPERA2DAY may collect, why we do so and what we may do with that data. You can also read which cookies we use and why. This statement covers our entire website: it therefore applies to visitors, but also, for example, if you sign up for a newsletter.
COOKIES
To make this website function better and faster, and to be able to tailor it to your preferences, certain information concerning your use of this website is collected. This information may be collected by using so-called 'cookies'. These are small text files that are automatically placed on your computer by the web page visited. You can disable the use of 'cookies' via your browser settings. However, this will result in a reduced performance of this website. Third parties may also place cookies and track internet behaviour, as is the case, for example, with embedded videos from Vimeo.
WHAT DATA DO WE COLLECT?
In order to provide you with the best possible service, it is sometimes necessary for us to know and/or process your personal data. Personal data known to us is used and processed by us in accordance with the AVG.
Three types of data are involved:
- When you visit our website, certain data, such as your IP address, the duration of your visit and which pages you visited, are recorded. For this, we use Google Analytics, which uses so-called 'cookies' for this purpose. We only use this data to improve our website. If Google is legally obliged to do so, it can provide this data to third parties. In principle, this data is anonymous, but via your Internet Service Provider (ISP) it may be possible to link it to your personal data.
- Contact personal data, such as name, address, place of residence, telephone, e-mail address, other contact details. If you contact us via our website, by e-mail, by telephone or otherwise, we assume that we may process the (personal) data you provide (e.g. your name and contact details) if there is reason to do so in the context of our work (e.g. if you are interested in, or want to participate in, one of our projects).
- Personal data necessary for a more businesslike agreement. These are also ordinary personal data. This may be if, for example, you work for OPERA2DAY for a project through a contract, you are/become a Friend of OPERA2DAY, or if you become a business partner and personal data is required.
WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR (PERSONAL) DATA?
We use this data for various purposes. In addition, when we believe it is appropriate, we may use your contact data to send you information or enquiries about relevant activities or projects. Sending information can be done, for example, via an electronic newsletter. In almost all cases, we provide you with a simple option to unsubscribe when doing so. Only if you are an active participant in one of our projects can you not unsubscribe from relevant e-mails during the project period. OPERA2DAY uses your data for:
- Sending you a newsletter
- Calling or emailing you to keep you informed and personally updated
- Analysing your behaviour on the website in order to improve the website and tailor the range of products and services to your preferences
WHEN DO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH THIRD PARTIES?
We do not share your data with external parties without your prior consent, except in the following cases:
- When an external service provider performs part of our business activities on our behalf, we may share your (personal) data with this party. As a result, your data may be stored on servers outside the EU. In that case, these servers always comply with the strict EU privacy directive (e.g. via the EU-US privacy shield agreement). We also satisfy ourselves that this service provider has strong security policies in place. Where necessary, we will enter into a processor agreement with this service provider as required by the AVG. Currently, OPERA2DAY has a processing agreement with the following parties:

- When we believe it is appropriate in relation to the purpose for which you have provided us with the data, we may (in individual cases) share your name and/or contact details (e.g. your email address or telephone number) with trusted third parties, but never for marketing purposes.
AUTOMATED DECISION-MAKING
OPERA2DAY does not make decisions based on automated processing about matters that could (significantly) affect individuals. These are decisions made by computer programmes or systems, without a person (e.g. an employee) being involved.
HOW LONG WE KEEP PERSONAL DATA
We do not keep your personal data longer than strictly necessary to realise the purposes for which your data are collected. We use the following retention periods for the following (categories of) personal data:
First and last name - 2 years Personalisation of newsletter.
Email address for newsletters we keep until you unsubscribe. After that, your address will remain on our file for a maximum of 12 months.
IP address - 24 months - For tracking interaction with our website and newsletter
Data about your activities on our website - 24 months for analysing and improving functionality of the website
Internet browser and device type - 12 months for analysing and improving functionality of the website
UNDER 16 YEARS OF AGE?
If you are a minor, i.e. under 16, you may only consent to the processing of your personal data with the consent of one of your parents or legal guardian. It is then important that your parent(s) or guardian reads this statement. They can also exercise the rights you have in relation to the personal data you leave with us, such as the right to oppose the (further) processing of your personal data or the right to inspect and correct your data.
WHEN DO WE DELETE YOUR (PERSONAL) DATA?
When you no longer use our services and there is no good reason to keep your data, we will delete your data within an appropriate time. This may be immediate (e.g. when you unsubscribe from a newsletter), or it may take longer (e.g. when we have a retention obligation, as in the case where we have entered into financial transactions with you).
On your first visit to our website, we have already informed you about these cookies and asked for your permission to set them. You can opt out of cookies by setting your internet browser to stop storing cookies.
In addition, you can also delete any information previously stored via your browser's settings.
